Cornish Seniors Golf Association

CSGA

Welcome to the website of the Cornish Seniors Golfing Association.  We were formed in 1972 to promote Seniors Golf in the County of Cornwall.
The aims of the Association are:
– to promote comradeship and golf for Senior Golfers in Cornwall.
– to  organise meetings and competitions.

Competitions

There are 6 events each year held at clubs throughout the county between March and October (Early Spring Meeting, Spring Shield, Summer Salver, President’s Shield, Captain’s Cup, Autumn Shield) played as pairs better-ball, 85% of H.I.
One other meeting we have is a Mixed event (partner must be a senior lady golfer) for the Hilda Williams Salver and is played as Greensomes.  The handicap allowance is 60% of lower plus 40% of higher H.I., 6-drives each minimum.
Additionally we ‘block-book’ sequential tee times for CSGA into the St Mellion Seniors Open.

The cost of each event is about £40 to include golf, food and prizes. Individual entries are acceptable and the Secretary will endeavour to find a “pair”.

There are also annual fourball matchplay fixtures against the Senior Gentlemen Golfers of Devon (home and away in May).

The competitions are listed in detail on the Events page, entry forms, start times and results will be available via the Latest page when available.

Membership

New members are most welcome.  There are very few conditions — you need to be a full playing member of a Cornish golf club and be  at least 55 years of age.  The current annual membership fee is £5.00.

Committee

The association is run by a committee of 5 officers (President, Captain, Secretary, Treasurer & Vice-Captain) together with 1 representative from every club in Cornwall (Club Reps)
The Officers are elected at the November meeting.
