Cornish Seniors Golf Association

CSGA

Welcome to the website of the Cornish Seniors Golfing Association.  We were formed in 1971 to promote Senior Golf in the County of Cornwall.
The aims of the Association are:
to promote comradeship and golf for Senior Gentlemen Golfers in Cornwall.
to  organise meetings and competitions.

Competition

There are 6 events each year held at clubs throughout the county between April and October with 5 (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Captain, President) played as a pairs betterball. The other meeting is a Mixed event (partner must be a senior lady golfer) for the Hilda Williams Salver and is played as a Rye Greensomes. This differs from the usual Greensomes in that the the one player plays all the 2nd shots on the even holes and the other on all the odd holes. Also the handicap allowance is 60% or lower plus 40% of higher.

The cost of each event is about £40 to include golf, food and prizes. Individual entries are acceptable and the Secretary will endeavour to find a “pair”.

There are also annual fixtures against the Senior Gentlemen Golfers of the Counties of Devon (home and away in mid-May) and Kent (alternate years home and away usually July).

The competitions are listed in detail on the Events page, entry forms, start times and results will be available when the appropriate link is “live”.

Membership

New members are most welcome.  There are very few conditions — you need to be a full playing member of a Cornish golf club and be  at least 55 years of age.  The current annual membership fee is £5.00.
For more details contact your local Club Rep or the Secretary.

Committee

The association is run by a committee of 6 officers (President, Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President & Vice-Captain) together with 1 representative from every club in Cornwall (Club Reps)
The Officers are elected at the November meeting4
